The Postponement
Waiting on my porch
Lean and gangly,
sly green eyes
and an easy smile.
Secretly amused,
Mother says
that you're too old
and sends you back
to where you came.
Kind hearted young man,
who understands.
Hands shoved deep into
the pockets of your Levi's
Dusty black converse
Slowly, you saunter away.

I love the way this feels so pure and innocent. It's just what happened as is, as a moment in life without bias, just occurence.
This is powerful with emotion. I can picture it in my mind.
Please stop by the Cafe today, there is something waiting for you.
This is great, Angela! I can totally picture this guy.
But... inquiring minds want to know: which came first, the poem or the picture?
Thank you, Susan:)
Actually, the poem came first. I just happened to luck out on finding this picture!
I enjoyed this poem. :)
Very vivid and clearly straightforward, balanced and flowing
